Electrical Measurement and Instrumentation Engineer (a)
For our client, a globally leading biotechnology company located near Biel, we are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual with proven expertise in metrology and calibration within a GMP environment.
Role Overview
The Instrumentation & Electrics Technician is responsible for managing repairs and leading the solving and implementing of process improvements for low voltage electrical systems and metrology tasks. This role involves ensuring optimal performance and reliability, enhancing manufacturing efficiency, reducing costs of electrical systems, conducting routine calibrations, and supporting manufacturing operations. This role also involves collaborating with multi-functional teams, ensuring compliance with GMP standards, and maintaining accurate documentation of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance system & manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
* Provide technical support to manufacturing operations & maintenance teams, solving issues, and ensuring smooth production processes with instrumentation and electrical systems.
* Quickly identify and resolve electrical and metrology issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
* Support projects and collaborate with design and development teams to ensure manufacturability of new products and processes.
* Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with GMP standards and other regulatory requirements.
* Ensure all maintenance and calibration activities follow GMP standards and other regulatory requirements.
* Develop and maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions.
* Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement.
* Train maintenance & operations staff on new processes, equipment, and standard methodologies to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
* Work closely with the maintenance team leads and other team members to coordinate maintenance and calibration activities and priorities.
* Oversee the maintenance and optimization of manufacturing equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
* Ensure all manufacturing activities align with safety laws and standard processes to maintain a safe working environment.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Metrology, or a related field.
* Additional certification in metrology or calibration is preferred.
* Min. 3-5 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance and calibration in a GMP regulated environment.
* Demonstrated experience in process improvement, production support, and equipment maintenance.
* Strong understanding of process automation and technical process operations.
* Very good knowledge of English and German; additional languages are a plus.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to support within the on-call team for 24/7 support.
