Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern within the Food & Beverage Department, the Assistant In-Room Dining Manager supports the Room Service Manager with all tasks related to the Room Service department. The Assistant In-Room Dining Manager reports to the Room Service Manager.
As Assistant In-Room Dining Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
* Representing and supporting the Restaurant Manager in the service area
* Leading your own team and ensuring smooth and guest-oriented work processes in the restaurant in close cooperation with all departments of the house
* Feedback and training of your team
* Professional advice and customer care for our guests
* Excellent product and sales knowledge
* Complying with and ensuring our high standards of service
* Communicating current offers in the department and throughout the house
* Responsible for the correct accounting of your department
* Responsible for complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines
As Assistant In-Room Dining Manager we expect from you:
* Completed vocational training in the upscale hotel or catering industry, ideally 2-3 years of professional experience in a similar position
* Leadership, organizational skills and the ability to lead a team of employees from different cultures with sensitivity and discipline
* Expressiveness, open-mindedness and team spirit
* Written and verbal communication skills - guests will come to you with both complaints and positive feedback
* High quality awareness and a sense for trends
* Good IT skills, knowledge of the Infrasys cash register system and the SevenRooms booking system would be an advantage
* Excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
* Resilience and flexibility - your position will include night, weekend and holiday shifts
* Very good knowledge of German and English. Additional foreign language skills are an advantage
