Transformative Medicines for Unmet Healthcare Needs
In Roche's Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organisation, we develop medicines to tackle the world's toughest unmet healthcare needs. Our mission is to transform science into medicines.
We create a culture defined by curiosity, responsibility, and humility, where our talented people are empowered to bring forward life-changing innovation at speed.
Harnessing Human Model Systems in Drug Discovery
You will join Roche's Institute of Human Biology (IHB), an organisation that harnesses and advances human model systems in drug discovery and development, as well as personalised medicine.
We bridge academic and pharmaceutical research, connecting biologists, engineers, and data scientists. We partner with leading scientific institutions worldwide to assemble, fund, and lead interdisciplinary teams to work on complex scientific questions.
Independent Research Associate for Alzheimer's Disease
In close collaboration with the Neurosciences and Rare Disease Discovery Translation Area, we seek an independent and motivated research associate to characterise iPSC-derived cell types of the central nervous system with Alzheimer's disease-related mutations.
The research associate will play a key role in developing foundational in vitro technology for drug profiling, synergising with IHB expertise to investigate clinical findings and address future portfolio needs.
Your Responsibilities
* Characterise iPSC- and fibroblast-based models of Alzheimer's disease.
* Contribute to generating new iPSC models with CRISPR engineering.
* Maintain stem cell and primary cell cultures.
* Support the development of in vitro assays.
* Rigorously document protocols and experimental results.
* Presents data at internal meetings.
