Mechanical Design Engineer for FCC

Your Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Handling Engineering Group, specifically in the Project Office section. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for conceptual installation studies for each component and schedule simulations. You will also study the transport and handling aspects.
You will closely collaborate with your supervisor in this role.
Your duties will include:
* Developing 3D models in Catia, considering the environment and handling operations.
* Designing and defining handling tooling.
* Project follow-up: participating in schedule forecasts and handling resources estimates.
Please note that this is an onsite position.
Your Profile:
Requirements:
* Proficient knowledge of a 3D drafting software (Catia, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.).
* Ability to prepare mechanical calculation notes for safety stakeholders.
* Proficient in mechanical calculations with Ansys (an asset).
* Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.
* A maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
* No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract.
* Eligibility criteria: applicants without a University degree are not eligible; applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
Working hours: 40 hours per week.
This position involves:
* Work in Radiation Areas.
* Interventions in underground installations.
* A valid driving licence.
