Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our core Oracle database applications. The ideal candidate is an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) with 5+ years of experience, preferably in a lead role. The role requires expertise in database design, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security. You will be responsible for ensuring database reliability, availability, and scalability in a 24x7 mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, implement, and maintain Oracle database solutions.
* Manage Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM, Active Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
* Perform database modeling, normalization, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
* Maintain and optimize SQL and PL/SQL processes to ensure database availability.
* Implement and enforce security standards, access controls, and compliance policies.
* Take ownership of database performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
* Plan, implement, and test backup and disaster recovery strategies.
* Execute data migration jobs and scripts as required.
* Work closely with the infrastructure team to optimize database hardware and storage.
* Provide support and collaboration to product developers and business units.
* Proactively identify bottlenecks, deadlock issues, and performance gaps, ensuring optimal database performance.
* Ensure SLAs and operational KPIs are met, collaborating with internal and external support teams during incidents.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) with 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience.
* Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Active Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
* Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and SQL Server tools.
* Advanced understanding of database security, backup & recovery strategies, and performance monitoring.
* Experience in data migration, capacity planning, and infrastructure deployment.
* Hands-on experience managing 24x7 mission-critical database environments.
* Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with cloud-based Oracle database deployments.
* Familiarity with automation tools and DevOps practices for database management.
* Knowledge of NoSQL and other modern database technologies is a plus.
