The Associate Director, Marketing – EMEAI serves as an important leader in promoting DIA’s thought leadership through web content, conference and training content, and social media positioning. The incumbent leads a team and is accountable for delivering creative, on- and off-line, content-centered, and data-driven marketing and communications campaigns that drive the financial performance of EMEAI region conferences and courses.
This position works closely with the Regional Managing Director, as well as regional and global team members at all levels to ensure marketing goals are met or exceeded and budgets are successfully deployed and managed. The individual in this role is also responsible for contracting marketing platform vendors and managing their work and performance.
In this role you will:
1. Lead the strategy and execution of communications and promotional activities for all EMEAI products, including the Europe Annual Meeting, specialty meetings, training, webinars, membership, and other products in coordination with regionally based marketing team members.
2. Develop and execute against the budget, with responsibility for allocating and overseeing regional marketing spend. This includes developing and holding the budget for marketing spend for each product in the portfolio, in agreement with the project managers and the regional Managing Director.
3. Establish strong marketing and communications goals focused on brand awareness, lead generation, contact nurturing, and achieving revenue goals tied to the EMEAI portfolio.
4. Lead and develop a marketing team that uses new methods, channels, and partners to position DIA as a leader in providing knowledge and services to life sciences professionals.
5. Responsible for audience definition and acquisition strategies for the entire EMEAI portfolio.
6. Develop and execute successful strategic marketing campaigns for the EMEAI region that utilize both proven and emerging methods, channels, and partners to position DIA as a leader in the marketplace and promote the DIA portfolio of products.
7. Develop and execute the annual media buying plan in support of the region.
8. Develop appropriate paid and organic programming to amplify existing campaign messaging and engage new audiences on social media platforms.
9. Analyze the performance and impact of marketing campaigns and tactics and use data to inform decision making and shape future marketing plans. Ensure DIA maintains consistency with the use of Google analytics, style guide, SM and UTM tracking, email tracking and coding, PR, and other processes and tools.
10. Responsible for gamification and e-catalog strategy, ideation, and delegation of tasks.
11. Main person responsible for the DIA annual conference booth concept and execution in partnership with the PM.
12. Engage DIA members, customers, and prospects through social media channels.
13. Collaborate within team and with other regional marketing leads to ensure portfolio cross-promotion, consistent brand messaging, optimize sales of DIA’s global portfolio of products, and execute global marketing campaigns as well as impact communication campaigns for DIA’s key activities and outcomes.
14. Research, analyze, and monitor financial, competitive, and demographic factors to capitalize on sales opportunities and strengthen DIA’s competitive position.
15. Provide input into the EMEAI content strategy based upon customer insights, competitive landscape, and knowledge of the marketplace.
To join us, you should have:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required; graduate degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 7 years’ overall experience with 5 years’ marketing experience in a related field (e.g., health care, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences) in a progressively challenging marketing and/or communications role, and 2 years’ supervisory/management experience required.
3. Extensive experience planning and implementing all aspects of marketing campaigns, including strategy, testing, database management, creative development, customer acquisition, segmentation, and budgeting.
4. Knows how to find the balance of being strategic and hands-on simultaneously and enjoys both.
5. Progressive and current digital marketing knowledge; skills and experience developing and implementing promotional strategies.
6. Experience leading teams and managing external vendor and partner relationships to achieve business goals.
7. Track record of exceeding (internal and external) customer expectations and building lasting relationships by understanding unique needs and delivering high quality results.
8. Demonstrates ability to stay abreast of new developments in his/her field, embrace new technologies and marketing innovations and adopt as relevant and appropriate.
9. A creative and innovative thinker who is also able to nurture creativity in others, identify the best ideas and leverage team members to successfully bring new ideas to fruition.

14. Ability to travel, including occasional international travel.
15. Fluent in English. Proficiency in other languages is a bonus.
