Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled LNG modeling professional to lead our global team and develop advanced gas and power models. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in energy markets, programming skills, and analytical capabilities to drive business growth and success.
LNG Modeling Capabilities:
* Develop a comprehensive global gas short position (SnD) model with detailed gas/power balances for key countries.
* Integrate the model results into a European Gas SnD.
* Create standardized scenarios and generate inputs for ad-hoc scenarios.
* Monitor the skill of the Global Gas SnD against realized inventories.
* Ensure that model input meets industry-leading standards by monitoring model performance.
* Keep the model up-to-date with changing worldwide regulatory environments.
Analysis and Trade Recommendations:
* Perform fundamental risk modeling of existing positions from the model.
* Support trade ideas proposed by our global Gas traders.
* Generate and update reports on demand.
* Monitor and generate trade ideas through our dedicated system.
Data Onboarding and Validation:
* Onboard novel datasets essential for building a global gas fundamental view.
* Ongoing review and validation of data cleaning methods and cleaned data.
Key Requirements:
* Expertise in International and European energy markets, with experience leading or supporting JKM & TTF strategies.
* Experience with power markets is highly valued.
* Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with knowledge of git and software engineering.
* Master's degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science).
* Excellent documentation skills to properly document models.
* Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with traders.
* Based in Geneva.
* At least 4 years of experience as a gas or quantitative analyst within top industry teams, including a hedge fund and a trading house.
