Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced transportation operations specialist, with a focus on optimization and continuous improvement, to join our Global Inbound Transportation CoE (Centre of Excellence) Team in Zurich. The CoE team is part of the Global Inbound Transportation team which is responsible for the timely and optimal delivery of products from suppliers to warehouses. The CoE team leads initiatives & projects to drive continuous improvement and increase inbound transport operations efficiencies. In this role, you will be responsible for certain focus areas (Business Analytics, System Automation, Procurement support) and lead optimization projects. You will contribute to the development and management of new tools, processes, projects and SOPs to maintain/improve service levels, reduce costs, reduce complexity, and deliver a high level of responsiveness and flexibility. This role is at 50% capacity, from Monday to Wednesday (Wednesday being a full day).
Your Mission
1. Drive excellence in development and implementation of key focus areas namely business analytics, automation, procurement support, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
2. Spearhead initiatives to contribute to the development and management of processes and SOPs to maintain/improve service levels, reduce costs, reduce complexity, and deliver a high level of responsiveness and flexibility.
3. Work with various stakeholders (Logistics Service Providers, Production Planning, Regional Operations, Supply Planning, Customs, and Finance) to drive engagement and involvement where relevant for all COE activities.
4. Continuously connect with key stakeholders in the markets on global processes and policies.
5. Develop and implement potential continuous improvement activities.
6. Actively participate in Quarterly/Monthly Business Review with LSPs to drive and support areas of continuous improvement.
7. Standardize, align, and constantly re-assess global transport requirements on logistics service providers, operational processes, and connectivity/data processes to support business growth.
8. Lead the integration of LSPs into the ON system landscape.
9. Apply best practice sharing and strive for standardization and harmonization of processes whenever possible.
10. Manage the change management approach for respective projects and programs.
11. Ensure changes are smoothly and successfully implemented in the markets to achieve lasting benefits.
Your Story
1. A degree in business, economics, logistics, supply chain, information systems, or operations.
2. +5 years of work experience in global transport operations ideally in an apparel/fashion or freight forwarding/carrier industry. Additional supply chain experience in other areas such as procurement, sourcing, supply planning, and warehousing is an asset.
3. Extensive knowledge and experience in all modes of Transport (Airfreight, Seafreight, Truck, Courier, etc.) preferred.
4. Good planning and organizational skills, including project management skills from initiation to closure.
5. Experience in successful implementation of transport-related continuous improvement and/or program management.
6. Experience in developing operational tools and dashboards.
7. Expertise in effectively managing Logistics Service providers.
8. Strong analytical, structured, and data-driven mindset.
9. Proficiency in MS Excel is a must.
10. Excellent English language proficiency.
11. Ability to work and deliver in changing environments, under very limited guidance while adhering to specified deadlines.
