Summary:
The purpose of this team is a team of product designers, game designers and artists responsible for designing products and experiences within the Minecraft ecosystem. This includes Marketplace, Realms subscriptions, Multiplayer experiences and features, Creator tools as well as online experiences, events and player gatherings. The Product Design team puts the player at the center, helping them discover, learn, and enjoy Minecraft through direct and partner experiences across its ecosystem. The team works with ecosystem partners, product owners and business groups to drive acquisitions, engagement, experiential excellence, as well as accelerating cross-device and subscription adoption. Together, we win by delivering compelling cross-endpoint experiences combining data informed approach with focus on player needs.
They are looking for a Producer to join the Product Design team and lead the coordination of complex design initiatives, ensuring seamless collaboration between cross-functional teams, driving innovative design solutions, and delivering user-centered experiences that align with our creative vision and business objectives.
As the Producer on the Product Design team, the contractor will play a pivotal role in driving our UX design initiatives within the Microsoft Store e-commerce platform. The contractor should demonstrate a passion for collaboration and operational excellence, showcasing a proven track record of leading complex projects and teams. Your organizational agility will enable you to navigate and influence at all levels of the organization effectively.
In this role, the contractor will be working closely with the Director of Product Design, in obtaining and maintaining alignment from partners and cross-functional teams. The contractor will frame complex player opportunities and pain points and business objectives, drive informed decisions, and develop actionable plans that garner alignment with partners and buy-in from stakeholders. A data-driven mindset and a relentless focus on player needs will be essential as you strive to enhance the user experience and drive OKRs.
Key projects:
1. Oversee the end-to-end design process and Agile development process, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
2. Track design requests, tasks and deliverables across multiple functions to ensure high performing team velocity and efficiency.
3. Participate in the collection of operational metrics to inform the overall performance, capacity, and priorities of each project.
4. Identify Strategic solutions and new paths forward as business priorities shift and reprioritization efforts are needed.
5. Schedule, facilitate and drive meetings with partners and stakeholders, including weekly team rituals, project kickoffs, design reviews, retrospectives/post-mortems.
6. Anticipate and mitigate risks and project delays.
7. Proactively ask questions that bring clarity, minimize scope creep, and move projects forward while identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities for the teams.
8. Facilitate and coordinate collaboration and communication across team members and partners to ensure alignment and proactively seek to bring people together when efforts or initiatives need broader awareness, alignment or signoff.
9. Rigorous documentation including but not limited to communicating status to leadership and stakeholders, track action items, create clear agendas to optimize meetings, and establish program roadmaps across each initiative.
10. Capture impact and reporting metrics across supported initiatives.
11. Foster Business, Planning and Engineering partnerships and enable a positive, inclusive, and engaging team atmosphere.
Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 30% meetings, 70% heads down.

Candidate Requirements
Years of Experience Required: 5-7 overall years of experience in the field.
Degrees or certifications required:
1. 5-7 years experience in Design, Gaming, UI/UX, retail, ecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles.
2. OR Bachelor's Degree in Design, Art, Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 5-7 years experience in Design, Gaming, UI/UX, retail, ecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles.
3. OR Master's Degree in Design, Art, Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 5-7 years experience in Design, Gaming, UI/UX, retail, ecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles.
Disqualifiers: Candidates who only worked in one role will not be eligible for the role.
Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain:
1. 5-7 years project/product management experience.
2. Experience in a design studio or creative agency environment.
3. Familiarity with work intake (e.g. ADO) and other relevant project management tools.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
5. Familiarity with design processes as well as product design philosophies and best practices.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
7. Familiarity with Figma, FigJam, Mural and Slack.
8. Passion and interest in games and gaming communities.
Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines and quality of work.
