Job Description: Server Management: Administration and maintenance of physical and virtual servers (Linux), ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
Infrastructure Monitoring: Set up and manage monitoring tools to track server health, performance, and capacity planning (ELK, Prometheus, NewRelic).
Cloud Infrastructure: Oversee cloud-based systems (e.g., AWS, Azure, Exoscale) and hybrid environments, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup solutions to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
Security Compliance: Implement and maintain server security policies, including regular updates, patches, and vulnerability assessments.
Automation: Design and implement automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance efficiency (Salt, shell, Go, GitLab, Terraform).
System Upgrades: Plan and execute server upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
Virtualization and Containerization: Manage and optimize virtualization environments (e.g., VMware) and container platforms (e.g., Docker compose, Nomad).
Documentation: Create and update comprehensive documentation for server configurations, procedures, and processes.
Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams to support cross-functional initiatives and troubleshoot issues.
Minimum Qualifications: A degree or vocational training in IT, computer science, or a related field.
At least 5 years of professional experience in server administration or a similar role (ELK, Prometheus, NewRelic).
Hands-on experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware) and containerization platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficiency in managing Linux server environments.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, Exoscale.
Strong knowledge of networking principles and protocols.
Excellent experience with monitoring tools and practices.
Experience with automation tools (e.g., Salt, shell, Go, GitLab, Terraform).
Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Fluency in English & French; sufficient in German is optimal.
