On behalf of our client, an innovative company in the life sciences sector, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated accountant to join their Finance team and support their operations with accounting, controlling, and administrative expertise.
Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with Swiss legal standards and company policies. This includes managing the general ledger and overseeing sub-ledgers such as accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, leasing, accruals, and deferrals.
* Execute timely period-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
* Support projects aimed at optimizing financial processes to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
* Handle quarterly VAT reporting and conduct VAT reconciliations on a quarterly and annual basis.
* Assist with the preparation and review of semi-annual and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and the Swiss Code of Obligations.
* Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's internal control system.
* Participate in ERP system implementation and ongoing maintenance.
* Assist with controlling tasks such as preparing management reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
* Perform various administrative duties to support the Finance team.
Profile
* Certified Specialist in Accounting and Financial Management or equivalent qualification.
* Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a similar position; experience in the life sciences sector is advantageous.
* Solid understanding of Swiss VAT regulations, familiarity with international VAT rules is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of the Swiss Code of Obligations and practical experience with IFRS.
* Meticulous and quality-conscious work ethic, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, along with hands-on ERP experience.
* Excellent communication skills in both German and English (written and spoken), knowledge of French is a plus.
* Team-oriented personality with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, independent working style.
