Job Description
Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may help consolidate hazardous wastes. Conducts emergency response and hazardous material handling. Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies. Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist. Includes ergonomic compliance-related activities. Monitors industrial health compliance. Acts as a local QMS Coordinator and maintains the ISO 9000/ Quality Management System (QMS) in Aarau, responsible for internal audits and for the yearly certification audit conducted by the external certification body. You will report to the MANAGER, INDUSTRIALIZATION DESIGN. The team includes 5 people.
Your Responsibilities:
* Implement and maintain the Rockwell Automation environmental and safety management systems to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and Rockwell Automation procedures.
* Assist with government agencies' field visits to understand the regulations and ensure compliance. Responsible for compliance with country law, and consistency of EHS reports and data provided to governmental bodies. Maintain regular meetings with country EHS specialists to discuss regulatory and standardization topics.
* Provide technical support, input, and coordination on environmental, health, and safety issues that affect projects and processes at the site level.
* Participate and support in completing environmental, health, and safety permits, reports, forms, and surveys by regulation or Rockwell Automation policy and procedures for the departments.
* Support in responding to customer requests for EHS Plans such as safety manuals for on-site project work and support the project implementation plan.
* Provide support in monthly environmental, sustainability, and safety (injury/illness) metrics to HQ-EHS; help investigate injuries and illnesses; analyze work-related injury and illness data to identify actions to prevent a recurrence of the injury/illness; and support efforts to return employees to productive work within assigned medical restrictions.
* Ensure that environmental, health, and safety assessments, personal protective equipment, procedures, training, and other control measures by regulation or Rockwell Automation policy and procedures are provided by the related functions for the departments' employees.
* Support environmental product compliance (permit registration, WEEE, RoHS, Packaging, and others) with local and country entities. Support product safety/liability issues.
* Responsible for regulatory required reporting to the country and site representative promptly. Where applicable, act as the EHS site representative on request for works council related matters.
* Ensure compliance of Field Operations as far as attached to the site with related EHS programs, regulations, and procedures. This requires cooperation with the related country and regional EHS resources as this is a shared responsibility.
* Experience of country EHS regulations and their application is required.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
* Education: We are looking for a person with a technical professional education, a technician/engineering degree, and further training as an EKAS safety specialist/ EKAS safety engineer (or comparable).
* 3 years' experience related to environmental, health, and safety aspects in a manufacturing or field service organization.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
* Professional registrations or certification are valued.
* Fluent in English and German.
