Job Description:
Rheonics R&D center is seeking a Firmware Engineer with FPGA design, modeling, and simulation experience. You will contribute to:
* FPGA design, architecture development, simulation, implementation, integration, and troubleshooting.
* Innovation and deployment of algorithms, requirements, and modeling for sensor systems.
Required Qualifications:
* Experience in FPGA architecture simulation, synthesis and hardware testing and verification. Should be familiar with Lattice, Xilinx, Intel, or Microsemi devices and their associated development environments (Radiant, Vivado, Quartus, Libero).
* Proficiency in VHDL and Verilog, and preferably System Verilog.
* Experience with digital signal processing and modeling (MATLAB or Python).
* EU citizenship or authorization to work in Switzerland (including non-Swiss students who have completed a MS or PhD in Switzerland; part-time roles may be available for current PhD students).
Desired Skills:
* Experience with:
* Timing analysis
* Embedded processors on FPGAs (e.g., ARM)
* Interfacing with ADCs and digital communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet)
* PCB design (schematic capture and layout) with KiCAD and Altium
* Signal conditioning and data acquisition/processing
* Algorithms and computing on FPGA
* Linear algebra, estimation theory, multi-variate statistics, and numerical methods knowledge.
* Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and weigh design options.
Additional Information:
* This is a full-time, on-site position in Winterthur. Remote work is not available.
