We are looking for a driven candidate to join our Team as a Director of Business Development! You will get to work with outstanding senior leadership and management. Our Director of Business Development manages and supports the assessment of organizational needs and the design, implementation and evaluation of programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of the organization. Our Director of Business Development also builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position manages all employees of the Business Development function and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Job Responsibilities: Managing relationships with customers and marketing additional services to those customers through cross utilization of the organization's broad service offerings.
Manages business development (BD) strategies and processes.
Assesses (BD) needs of operating, business, and functional units.
Leads the design, development and implementation of programs, policies and strategies tailored to meet (BD) needs and program goals.
Designs and executes key programmatic elements of the BD process.
Evaluates strategies and programs to measure the achievement of established goals.
Assists with the provision of expert facilitation and coaching to supervisors and managers regarding BD methods and tools.
Manages the individual development planning process for executives and emerging leaders.
Provides consultative services to the business units regarding mentoring.
Plans and leads short- and long-term planning for BD programs.
Prepares budgetary recommendations that meet departmental goals and provide for effective management of resources.
Prepares sales presentations and proposals/quotes as needed.
Develops and negotiates contracts in coordination with management and estimators.
Supervises a group of employees in various BD work units.
Job Qualifications: Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships.
Experience in sales planning.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Strong presentation and facilitating skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field desirable.
Five years of wind industry experience.
Two years’ experience of managing teams.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting performing desk work.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted at times.
Ability to travel.
