Our Indirect Purchasing Team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and the efficient functioning of our European HQ in Murten, Switzerland.
As a Senior Indirect Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that optimize costs, enhance supplier relationships and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality goods and services to support our automotive manufacturing activities and headquarters operations.
Your responsibilities will be to:
1. Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect materials and services
2. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions
3. Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships to ensure high-quality service and delivery
4. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
5. Collaborate with all European Johnson Electric entities to secure the most favorable commercial conditions
6. Carry out comprehensive evaluations and develop KPIs to monitor, control and optimize the procurement process
7. Perform market research to stay updated on industry trends and identify potential new suppliers
8. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities
Our requirements:
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field
2. 3-5 years of experience in indirect procurement, ideally within a manufacturing setting
3. Fluent English and French language knowledge and a good level of communication in German
4. Strong negotiation and contract management skills
5. Experience in managing procurement projects from start to finish
6. Strong analytical skills to assess market conditions and supplier performance
7. Proficiency in Oracle or other ERP systems
8. Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements related to procurement
9. Preferred Certifications: CPS (Certified Purchasing Specialist), CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), or similar
