We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bid Manager to oversee and manage the preparation, submission, and delivery of high-quality bids for new business opportunities in the EMEA and APAC regions. As a Bid Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the company’s business growth by leading the bid process from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with requirements, and the highest standard of professionalism in proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Bid Management:
Lead and manage the end-to-end bid process, from initial opportunity identification through to submission, ensuring all internal stakeholders are aligned and the bid is submitted on time.
Proposal Preparation:
Coordinate the preparation of high-quality, tailored proposals and presentations that meet the client’s needs and specifications. Oversee the content, structure, and format to ensure it is compelling and clear.
Stakeholder Liaison:
Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Sales, Legal, Finance, Customer Service, etc.) to gather necessary information, define scope, and ensure the bid aligns with company capabilities and objectives.
Client Relationship:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their requirements and incorporate their feedback throughout the bidding process.
Compliance & Quality Control:
Ensure all bids comply with client requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. Perform quality checks on all documents before submission.
Bid Calculation:
Create a quotation sheet for each project summarizing the RC and NRC, check the non-recurring costs with the engineering team, securing the main cost drivers with the purchase department, create a price sheet for the customer ensuring bids are financially viable while maintaining profitability.
Risk Management:
Identify and manage potential risks associated with bids, including legal, financial, and operational risks, and propose solutions to mitigate them.
Post-Submission:
Manage any post-bid activities, including clarifications, presentations, and contract negotiations, ensuring a smooth transition to project delivery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years of experience in bid management, proposal writing, or sales, preferably within the transportation/manufacturing industry.
Great organizational and project management skills.
Fluency in both German and English.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of PIS communication protocols appreciated.
Experience with Passenger Information System and CCTV is welcome.
