The key to the organization's export success lies in coordinating shipments, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and managing export supervisory, pre-shipment, and post-shipment team members to bring accuracy and potency to shipment operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure proper adherence to destination documentation requirements as stipulated in shipping instructions.
2. Prepare accurate reports of all Nigeria-origin export shipments to the Business Head and Trade team in Dubai.
3. Schedule inspections with regulatory agencies for statutory documents: NAQS (NON-GMO & PHYTOSANITARY CERTIFICATE), NDLEA & Customs.
4. Raise NXPs, stakeholders' verification for inspection requests, NESS payments, and retrieve CCI.
5. Keep records of inflows to match funds with NXP value for reconciliation with the finance team and designated bank.
6. Manage contacts within the port, shipping lines, customs, and inspection agents to mitigate transit delays from warehouse to destination port.
7. Negotiate cost-effective freight rates from shipping lines as requested by the Business Head.
8. Provide training to export team members on recent export operations processes in Nigeria.
9. Maintain accurate reports of forwarding charges, terminal handling charges, export & fumigation levy, and quality inspection surveyor's payments.
10. Organize logistics team meetings to discuss operational issues.
11. Send updates of pending freight payments to the Dubai team for timely documentation processing.
12. Assess and coordinate vessel planning operations with cargo readiness teams to avoid renomination charges and delays.
13. Manage Export Expansion Grant (EEG) filing for proper documentation and upload on the EEG web portal before deadlines.
14. Offer suggestions to the ENS Business Head on new processes that can be utilized.
Qualifications / Experience and Skills:
1. BSc. in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or Maritime related field.
2. At least 7 years' experience in logistics management, preferably in import and export operations.
3. High level of accuracy in checking and processing information.
4. Effective verbal and written communication.
5. Timely decision-making skills.
6. Accountability and confidentiality.
7. Analytical skills – ability to develop reports using Excel and PPT.
8. Leadership skills – ability to lead by example and take ownership.
9. Excellent knowledge in raising NXPs, stakeholders' verification, NESS payments, and CCI retrieval.
