Within Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI), you will be part of our Buildings business unit, which brings together the full portfolio of products, software and services for buildings and adjacent infrastructure.

Location: Zug - Switzerland, UK, European Union, United States of America - NYC, DC or Atlanta. There is no need to relocate.
The Role
As Senior Director, you are a key member of our Corporate Development team at theSI Buildings Business Unit. Specifically, you will:
* Identify and evaluate potential targets for investments, acquisitions and strategic partnerships to complement or accelerate our organic efforts.
* Take full ownership of early-stage M&A initiatives by assessing portfolio, evaluating strategic fit, synergies, and performing preliminary valuations.
* Lead strategic discussions with targets, buyers, and partners to shape proposals that you bring forward to our senior leadership team.
* Collaborate with M&A specialists on due diligence and execution to secure successful outcomes throughout the Siemens investment process.
* Advise our executive leadership team on complex strategic decisions. Act as sparring partner to senior leaders in our countries and business segments.
* Systematically collect and review learnings from projects with the team, and incorporate them to continuously improve our M&A playbook.
* Be a leader, expert and coach in our business unit to your peers and the wider corporate development community across Siemens.
Your Profile
Strategic thinker with ability to structure and solve complex problems and lead projects independently, combined with:
* MBA or Master's degree in Business Administration / Economics / Finance, Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial engineering or similar.
* 7+ years of total work experience in Strategy, Corporate Development and/or Consulting with exposure to M&A projects from a strategic lens.
* Strategic thinker with focus on incepting and pitching value creating transactions early in the M&A process, rather than a financial/accounting expert.
* Experienced in determining strategic fit, synergies, developing valuations and adept at forging relationships with potential sellers, buyers and partners.
* Strong analytical skills to assess companies, review financial statements, challenge their consistency, and make meaningful assumptions.
* Knowledge of the Building and Infrastructure, or IoT and Software domain, as basis to be able to independently judge target-fit with our business.
* Existing network and ability to liaise with relevant third parties including investment banks, potential partners, and potential targets.
* Team player with a faithful character, intercultural competence, growth mindset and resilient personality who drives varying team constellations to success.
* Willingness and flexibility to work in a global business environment, spanning across global timezones.
* Fluent language skills in English and strong communication skills on senior management level complete your profile.
