The successful candidate will be appointed as Head of Legal & Compliance.
Job Description:
This role involves the internalisation and further development of the legal department, reflecting the company's commitment to strengthening its legal and compliance capabilities.
You will be responsible for structuring the department and hiring 2 legal counsel/advisors to build a powerful team that can tackle future challenges.
As the Head of Inhouse Legal and Compliance, you will be part of the Group Executive Committee, leading the legal and compliance department, overseeing all aspects of legal and regulatory affairs within the organisation, and providing legal services that support business growth.
You will play a critical role in safeguarding the organisation's legal and regulatory interests while fostering a culture of compliance and ethical behaviour.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Setup the internal legal & compliance department, hire your colleagues, and lead the team.
* Design and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations for various group entities.
* Provide expert legal counsel and guidance to senior management and key stakeholders.
* Manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.
* Review and negotiate various commercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements, etc.
* Develop and deliver legal trainings and tools to employees globally.
* Stay current with changes in legislation affecting the business.
* Build and lead an effective team of legal and compliance professionals to achieve departmental goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A Master's degree in law, MBA or LLM qualification is an asset.
* A minimum of 3 years of professional experience, ideally in M&A or consulting roles, as well as experience as an In-house Counsel.
* A deep understanding of commercial and corporate law, particularly in the machine industry.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
* Demonstrated excellence in negotiation and contract drafting.
* The ability to cultivate and sustain robust professional relationships across the organisation.
* The capacity to convey legal matters and risks in terms understandable to non-legal colleagues.
* Proven capability to thrive in a highly autonomous role, being ambitious and self-driven, ready to dive into new things.
* Ongoing participation in specialized and relevant training programs.
* An excellent command of English and good German language skills.
