In this new role as Senior Legal Counsel Intellectual Property, you will play a pivotal part in providing legal expertise and guidance relating to a diverse range of Intellectual Property matters to our organization ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations and safeguarding the interests of our retail business. Advise on a wide range of IP issues, including in particular trademark, copyright and unfair competition law
Supervise and manage the IP portfolio and provide high quality and practical guidance as well as actionable advice when it comes to use and registration of our IP
Handle trademark conflicts and registry disputes, including setting strategies to defend, prosecute and settle oppositions, cancellation and revocation actions
Trademark Clearances, elaborate trademark strategies and supervise trademark filings
Handle domain name disputes
Advise on marketing and labelling inquiries
Draft, review and negotiate IP related agreements such as coexistence, assignment, license, franchise or distribution agreements
Support internal teams to identify legal risks and devise strategies for risk mitigation
Collaborate with P&C Legal Heads to coordinate and align on company-wide legal policies and practices.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Your profile
Master’s degree in law, admission to a bar (CH and/or DE) preferred
Minimum of 5 years experience in handling IP matters, preferably in a specialized IP law firm or inhouse IP position, with a focus on trademarks.
In-depth knowledge of fashion retail industry practices ideal
Strong understanding of trademark law and practice
Fluent German and an excellent command of English, other languages desirable
A motivated and proactive mindset focused on being solution-driven
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
