Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).
Finance and Human resources field workers at MSF have long relied on a legacy system based on Excel, supplemented with Visual Basic (VB) scripts and macros, to manage budgets, forecasts, and allocation of staff. While this system has served its purpose over the years, it is increasingly becoming evident that it cannot keep pace with the evolving demands of modern finance and human resources operations and increased security in IT systems. The incumbent will lead a project that will transform how field operations are managed in the finance and HR domains.
The IT Lead will liaise between the business side of the project and the IT department and software vendor. S/he will participate in specification workshops and translate business needs into technical tasks.
S/he will design, configure, and test the solution based on a framework that will be chosen after a challenge between a few software vendors.
S/he will ensure good integration of the new solution with the MSF information system (design and build of interface, end-to-end tests, …)
