Responsibilities:
* Developing novel, robust synthetic routes for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) or key intermediates.
* Planning, executing, documenting, and reporting synthetic experiments.
* Analyzing experimental data and delivering clear insights and conclusions.
* Collaborating as part of a highly diverse and multidisciplinary team.
* Exploring and applying new synthetic methodologies where applicable.
* Generating essential data to support the seamless transfer of processes for further optimization and scale-up.
* Working closely with on-site analytical chemists to support method development and troubleshooting.
* Interfacing with cross-functional teams (process safety, engineering, analytics, crystallization) and external partners as needed.
* Participating in regular internal meetings across a multicultural and interconnected organizational structure.
Requirements:
* PhD in Organic Chemistry.
* OR Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
* Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams.
* Excellent organizational, documentation, and reporting skills.
* Solid expertise in multi-step organic synthesis and compound characterization.
* Experience in catalysis (e.g., cross-coupling reactions, hydrogenation) is a plus.
* Familiarity with Flow Chemistry and/or High-Throughput Experimentation (HTE) is advantageous.
