Our client is an international company located in Geneva. The Interim Global Tax Accounting and Reporting Specialist will join the global finance team. In this new role, you will be working closely with the Tax, Controlling, and Finance teams. Your mission will be to supervise and enhance the tax accounting processes at every quarter and year-end as well as to ensure US GAAP tax reporting compliance with US GAAP and group policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Tax Accounting: Lead and structure the tax accounting exercise at the global and local level, completing the global ASC 740 tax provision process from planning and forecasting through to calculations, recording, and reporting; drive continuous process improvements to streamline the global tax accounting process; ensure processes, documentation, and related systems are in compliance with policies and best practices.
2. Tax Reporting: Manage the global and local finance team members responsible for tax accounting exercise to deliver all income tax reporting including federal, state, and US international tax returns; partner with internal and external stakeholders to improve standardization and automation in the US income tax compliance process; enhance documentation and drive collaboration between the tax accounting and tax reporting processes.
3. Finance and Tax Projects: Collaborate with other team members of the Global Tax and Finance to manage tax accounting and reporting aspects of the projects (e.g., tax planning projects, business restructuring projects, etc.).
4. Systems and Automation: Lead Global Tax team's efforts on enterprise-wide systems projects that drive a tighter end-to-end connection with the tax accounting and income tax reporting processes and the adoption of tax technology tools.
5. Policy Development: Establish, develop, and document the company's global tax accounting policies.
6. Advisory Role: Advise, guide, and monitor peers as it relates to compliant tax accounting practices.
7. Internal Controls: Ensure effective internal tax controls are in place and appropriate documentation is maintained for the area of responsibility.
8. Stakeholder Relationships: Drive relationships with stakeholders including business partners, FP&A, Technical Accounting, Treasury, and external parties including financial statement auditors.
6-month mission starting immediately. International organization located in Geneva.
Minimum Qualifications:
The selected Interim Global Tax Accounting and Reporting Specialist will have the following background and experience:
1. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a big-four audit firm dealing with SEC registrants and/or public company.
2. Advanced knowledge of and experience with the preparation and review of US GAAP income tax provisions including ASC740, accounting for uncertain tax positions, and accounting for the tax impacts of business restructuring and tax planning measures.
3. Monitoring and analyzing tax regulatory and compliance developments, accounting pronouncements, and tax law changes to assess the implications for the Company.
4. Experience with Oracle Cloud EPM solutions, such as Tax Reporting Cloud Service (TRCS), Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service (FCCS), and Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS), is strongly preferred.
5. A proven track record in process improvements, automation, and ERP system conversions is a strong plus.
6. Experience working directly with external auditors to resolve complex accounting and reporting issues.
7. Experience managing corporate income tax compliance for multi-national and multi-state filings.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Ability to autonomously research and document complex accounting transactions.
10. Ability to engage with various parts of the business as well as key stakeholders to assess and document a situation and its impact on financial reporting.
11. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, accuracy.
12. Ability to prioritize and organize, ensuring all tasks are completed in a time-efficient manner.
13. Ability to work across cultures at different levels of organization and with different functions.
14. High level of reliability and personal integrity.
