MAIN PURPOSE
The sourcing department's mission for direct purchases (Tinplate, Coating, Inks, and Aluminium) is to bring a competitive advantage through price negotiations, diversity of sources, minimization of working capital, continuous improvement of service levels from suppliers, and compliance with regulations and internal rules regarding costs, service, quality, and processes.
The Sourcing department maintains high levels of communication with the Business, including R&D, operations, and Sales, ensuring full alignment with the Business strategy. The Sourcing Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of a strategy for its commodity in line with the above.
The position is based in Zug, Switzerland.
MAIN PERMANENT GOALS & MISSIONS
* Manage existing metal sourcing contracts throughout the contractual period and follow up & control the spend.
* Negotiate new contracts in accordance with the objectives set by the Sourcing Director.
* Develop a consistent relationship with suppliers.
* Develop in-depth global market trend and industry knowledge. Understand key cost drivers of the global category including underlying commodity dynamics.
* Work closely with the Supply Chain Department. Follow volume & specification requirements, and review status against suppliers' contracts. Share forecasts with suppliers, follow up on deliveries with plants & suppliers, and lead internal alignments.
* Collaborate with the R&D department and follow developments.
* Monitor new customer projects and support the Sales department with offers to customers, ensuring supply, prices, and contractual terms.
* Prepare the yearly budget and review it with the Sourcing Director.
* Discuss assumptions with market players and options with the business.
* Work with the Back Office function to secure the accuracy of deals and closely monitor prices and volumes.
* Pay special attention to internal customers (operations, supply chain, finance) expectations and deliver results.
* Drive process improvement projects with suppliers and supply chain to secure service performance.
* Regularly report to management on challenges and progress in all areas.
ORGANIZATION
The Sourcing Manager operates in the Metal Raw Materials Team and reports to the Sourcing Director - Tinplate and Aluminium.
Main Skills and Qualifications Required
* 5-7 years of experience in an industrial company. Experience in the Steel industry is mandatory.
* Strong negotiation skills, self-starter, and results-oriented.
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate and influence others. Build and maintain strong relationships.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills. Understanding of modeling & running optimization tools is a plus.
* Engineering degree (especially Metallurgical) is a plus.
* Previous sourcing/supply chain experience is a plus.
* Fluency in English with the ability to work in a multi-lingual environment.
* Willingness to travel frequently.
