GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Quality Engineer II will assist the Quality Manager relating to activities such as returns, source inspection, other support as required, and maintain Quality Management System objectives and structure. Also serves as the lead for QA/QC modules of the Visual Quality Data Base.
This position is responsible for oversight, support, and interface of the QC function internally and as a customer-facing representative for Source Inspections. Responsible for preparing First Articles for submission into customer portals. This position involves furnishing direction and support to other quality personnel, and providing guidance and support to Engineering, Operations and Sales personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Assist with planning and work assignments, provide direction, assistance, and advice to department employees.
Continually improve the overall quality system.
Act as primary customer interface for significant quality related issues/initiatives; coordinate participation of other team members as appropriate.
Ensure department processes and equipment meet necessary standards, implement necessary changes to ensure continued compliance.
Oversee the collection of data. Perform necessary analysis of information to support company continuous improvement and preventive action activities. Coordinate activities and corrective/preventive actions with other company departments.
Assist with development and implementation of quality-related training programs for managers and employees.
Initiate and facilitate customer return (RMA) process.
Serve as point-of-contact for source inspection and on-site expert related to the creation of First Article packages and submitting those into Net-Inspect or similar inspection services as required.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
FAA certificated repair station inspector.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years hands-on quality experience in a formal quality position.
Minimum 10 years in a manufacturing environment operating AS9100 and/or ISO9001.
Lean training, six sigma green belt or black belt is desired but not required.
Experience with the design and manufacture of passive RF and microwave components in a job shop environment is desired but not required.
Proficient with Net-Inspect.
Experience working with U.S. Government contracting as well as FAR and DFAR requirements.
Have or attain a certification as a FAA certificated repair station inspector.

Computer literate; ERP systems, Microsoft Office suite.

Knowledge of wide variety of inspection and quality methods, techniques and equipment.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, process and contract documents.
Ability to provide guidance to others.
Good basic mathematical aptitude required.
Ability to follow written instructions and techniques.
Ability to efficiently manage activities and responsibilities based on internal and external customer needs.
Comfortable communicating with employees at all levels of the company, as well as suppliers and customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Light physical effort required. Continuous mental and visual attention required.
Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and bend.
Good eyesight, correctable to 20/20 vision.
Lift up to 50lbs.
Periodic day and overnight travel may be required.
