Job Summary
Are you keen to support your team and customers in all automation related topics? As a recruiting partner of HUG Engineering, we are looking for you as Automation Engineer Aftersales. HUG Engineering is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of exhaust aftertreatment systems for high horsepower engines in the mobile and stationary market. Their applications range from small yachts with an engine power of 500 kW to large power plants with 20 MW per engine. They develop innovative systems that are specifically tailored to the use of alternative fuels such as methanol, hydrogen, and ammonia.
You will have the opportunity to interact with people from all around the world and solve complex problems with the support of the product experts. Furthermore, you will participate in exciting projects, provide custom solutions, and develop and implement your own visions.
What You Will Be Doing
Development and programming of PLCs and HMIs
Support customers and colleagues on Automation related Topics remotely or on site
Participate in Commissioning and Retrofit Projects
Software, Hardware, and function test in-house or directly on site
Preparation and execution of internal trainings
Creation of documentation
Travel activity of about 5%-15% (Mostly Europe)
What You Bring To The Job
Successfully completed education or further training in a specialized field as automation specialist / engineer
Profound knowledge of PLC development environments, preferably Siemens TIA Portal / Step7
Knowledge in electrical CAD preferably EPLAN P8
Knowledge of standards and guidelines in control engineering
Knowledge of control programming in FBD, LAD, SCL / ST. (C and C++ is nice to have)
Knowledge in network technology
Knowledge of communication interfaces CAN, Modbus, OPC-UA
Experience in the development and programming of PLCs and HMIs
Motivated to engage and evolve with Digitalization / cloud solutions in the future
Motivated to learn new PLC Programming platforms
Motivated and flexible team player
English: C1 – Advanced
German: C1 – Advanced
Nice-to-Haves
Professional experience as Automation Engineer
Knowledge of C and C++
Knowledge of virtual machines
