Business Controller Job Description
We are a leading Swiss company in the cable industry, renowned for our comprehensive range of products and services as well as customer-specific system solutions for energy transmission and distribution.
This role involves overseeing financial planning, controlling, and reporting across key business areas, ensuring data accuracy and supporting decision-making with insightful analysis.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning, control, and reporting of operational expenses, personnel costs, production costs, inventory, and investments
* Preparing weekly and monthly financial reports, providing insights on budget deviations with recommendations for optimization
* Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and mid-term planning, ensuring alignment with financial targets
* Analyzing production performance, including machine hourly rates definition and verifying accuracy of production orders costing
* Identifying business-critical related processes and proposing process optimizations
* Contributing to Board of Managers/Directors documentation preparation and supporting strategic decision-making
* Participating in financial and cross-functional projects, driving process improvements and business optimization initiatives
Requirements
* Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
* 3-5 years of experience in a financial controlling or business controlling role, preferably in an industrial manufacturing company
* Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
* Strong process-oriented approach
* Experience in cost accounting, production controlling, and inventory management is highly desirable
* Excellent Excel skills mandatory; experience with financial analysis tools (e.g., Tagetik, Power BI, SQL) is a plus
* Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 knowledge is a plus)
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with different stakeholders
* Fluency in German and English is mandatory; knowledge of Italian is a plus
