We are looking for a new Global Category Manager MRO (Maintenance, Repair/ Operations) to lead the overall strategy for the sourcing and supply of MRO categories globally across 9 sites by ensuring effective business partnering with the stakeholders to deliver continuous competitive advantage in terms of cost, quality, service and innovation.
This role can be located at any of our Production sites in Europe.
Key Responsibilities Develop the global MRO category sourcing strategy to drive value and achieve global targets.
Identify and evaluate sourcing potential (cost, lead times, technologies etc.) by conducting market intelligence.
Bundling of the global needs to optimize cost, inventory and lead times.
Strategic supplier management: selection, qualification, evaluation and steering.
Conduct the category supply market research in which the supplier operates to apply industry best practices on an ongoing basis: business trends, market conditions, supplier cost structure and benchmarks.
Assessment of strategic importance and mitigation of supply market risk.
Negotiation of contracts with key suppliers, ensuring contracts (and any subsequent claims) are managed proactively.
Being accountable for steering, tracking and controlling realization of defined activities within the relevant category: YoY savings, e-catalog roll-out and adoption, taxonomy, spend contracted, supplier’s consolidation, trade payables aligned to best industry standard, compliance to preferred programs, etc.
Providing functional leadership and direction to stakeholders and regional category buyers.
Periodical reporting to the sites, regional and global management.
You Bring These Skills, Experience & Education Bachelor’s degree in the field of business administration, master’s degree is a benefit.
Minimum 5 years indirect or direct procurement experience, including plant materials and services and products such as tooling, MRO would be very beneficial.
Strong knowledge of the strategic sourcing methodology and its application (e.g. fact-based negotiations and cross functional team collaboration).
Experienced with progressive procurement tools, such as cost structures, supplier business plans, electronic auctions, cost savings agreements, etc.
Record of driving cost savings, working in a global matrixed organization is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to network and establish and maintain good working relationships cross-functionally.
Strong system skills including the MS-Office (xls, doc, ppt), understanding MRP/ERP systems, such as BRAVO, SAP.
Fluent in English, German language is of advantage.
Travelling is required up to 25%, depending on the necessity.
