The Centre for Nature and Climate (CNC) acts as a systems leader and platform curator on the environment and natural resource security, the future of food, development finance and sustainable development, including helping to organise the World Economic Forum’s Sustainable Development Impact Summit. The centre seeks to bring innovation and frontier approaches to help the international system be more agile and equipped to respond to today’s challenges. The Centre has organized its initiatives in three thematic pillars: Net Zero, Nature Positive, and Better Living.
The CNC Nature pillar is working for a global transition towards a nature-positive economy, with its work focused on land and sea-scape protection and restoration, deforestation free supply chains, healthy and resilient oceans, and nature-positive urban development.
Now more than ever, the momentum on business action for nature is on the rise. The CNC Nature Pillar is looking to hire a self-motivated professional to support its key communities, coordinate on events and help improve processes for efficiency.
Reporting lines and interactions:
The role is based in Geneva within the World Economic Forum. The incumbent will report to the Head, Nature and Biodiversity.
The incumbent will be expected to liaise with stakeholders, both internally and externally, and ensure relationships are well maintained.
Breakdown of main responsibilities
1. Community Engagement (30%):
Manage all aspects of Nature Action Agenda monthly calls including scheduling, agenda-setting with the Head, Nature and Biodiversity and updating with notes and clear next steps
Working closely with Policy Lead, Nature Action Agenda manage the Champions for Nature and Senior Advisors’ community including physical and virtual meetings
2. Team coordination (40%)
Support with team coordination of meetings and note taking
Support where needed the Head, Nature and Biodiversity in stakeholder outreach.
Knowledge and digital library management of database, supporting material and interaction logs
3. Support Financing for Nature (30%)
Work closely with Lead, Innovative Finance for Nature to strengthen stakeholder engagement including the Frontrunners Coalition
Provide logistical support for cross-house collaboration on Financing for Nature including helping build out powerpoint slides, updating web material and occasional research
The successful candidate will be assessed on:
4. Project Management: Strong project management with ability to work with MS Office tools, including being able to make professional slides and process visualization
5. Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
6. Time management and prioritisation: ability to work to short deadlines, juggling competing demands without compromising quality
7. Interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence: ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively in a multicultural environment
8. Motivation: self-starter who enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment
Preferred requirements and experience:
9. Master’s in business administration, international development, finance, economics or simila
10. Minimum of two years’ professional experience in a project management/coordination role at a relevant business or not-for-profit organisation including consulting
11. Proven record of working in a fact paced environment with ability to multi-tas
12. Experience working on environmental/sustainability issues is preferre
13. Demonstrated experience working within multi-stakeholder processes and coordinating high-level meetings
