The Key Responsibilities
As an Account Manager, your primary duties will include:
1. Identifying and Cultivating Leads: Discovering sales opportunities, cultivating new business relationships, and engaging key decision-makers in the sequencing community.
2. Executing Growth Plans: Developing and monitoring regional commercial growth plans, focusing on key success metrics to achieve revenue and strategic goals.
3. Optimizing Sales Opportunities: Effectively managing sales opportunities through Salesforce/CRM.
4. Presentation and Consultation: Conducting product presentations and consultative discussions to showcase the value of our sequencing solutions.
5. Driving Technical Sales: Providing technical expertise throughout the sales process, including application consultations and data analysis support.
6. Enhancing Brand Visibility: Representing Roche at conferences, trade shows, and networking events to establish thought leadership and engage potential customers.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with marketing, product management, service, and support teams to align sales efforts with company objectives and customer needs.
8. Regional Execution: Partnering with subregional teams across Europe to develop and implement strategic plans for successful market penetration.
Your Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
1. Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Life Science, Business, or a related field.
2. Sales Experience: Proven experience in selling capital equipment within the diagnostics/life sciences industry.
3. Technical Knowledge: A deep understanding of Next Generation Sequencing and related genomic techniques.
4. Strategic and Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated excellence in negotiation, strategic planning, and organizational abilities.
5. Consultative Selling: The ability to identify technical needs and provide business solutions.
6. Entrepreneurial Spirit: Strong business acumen and drive to navigate complex sales processes.
7. Communication Skills: The ability to deliver impactful group presentations and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
8. Travel Requirements: Willingness to undertake national and international travel.
9. Preferred Experience: 5+ years in a clinical research or academic laboratory environment, experience selling Sequencers for NGS applications, and proficiency in NGS data analysis.
10. Language Skills: Fluency in English, knowledge of Italian and other European languages is an advantage.
