About the Job
We are seeking a talented Structural Analyst to join our team at Leonardo's Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters. As part of Kopter, you will be responsible for developing the AW09, a next-generation single-engine helicopter that sets new standards in safety, performance, and comfort.
Kopter is a hub for innovation and technological advancement, focusing on hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Our team of 320 experts is based in Switzerland, near Zurich and Mollis (Canton of Glarus).
Your Key Responsibilities
* Perform sizing and stress analysis of airframe structures using hand calculations, numerical simulations (FEM), and optimization techniques.
* Conduct structural analysis in accordance with aerospace methodologies and regulatory frameworks (EASA Part-21,J and CS27).
* Participate in trade studies for the development of Kopter products.
* Lead static and fatigue analysis for structures during prototype permitting or aircraft type certification processes.
* Define material and structural tests in collaboration with the team.
* Prepare detailed analysis reports, technical notes, and presentations.
* Manage internal and external work packages and ensure their successful execution.
* Support flight test activities by defining static and fatigue monitoring limits and reviewing flight test data.
Your Qualifications
* MSc degree in Aerospace / Mechanical or Structural Engineering or related field.
* Understanding of lightweight structures design principles.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace/aviation.
* Familiarity with applicable regulatory frameworks (EASA Part-21,J and CS27).
* English language proficiency (B2 level or higher, spoken and written).
* Able to thrive in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines.
* Comfortable with multitasking and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited guidance.
* Experience with traditional hand calculation methods and composite materials analysis.
* Familiarity with FEA software (Hyperworks, Hypermesh, Nastran/Optistruct) and optimizing lightweight structures.
