Job Summary
As an Applications Engineer, you will provide software solutions for multiphysics modeling to commercial and academic customers. You will be part of a top engineering and scientific team in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrate the use of COMSOL Multiphysics simulations for prospective customers, primarily in low-frequency EM applications.
* Support customers with modeling their applications using COMSOL Multiphysics.
* Present the features of the COMSOL software in web-based workshops and other marketing and sales events.
* Identify, nurture, and develop potential sales accounts in electrical engineering.
Technical Support and Training
* Provide technical support to customers using COMSOL software for EM applications and other multiphysics applications.
* Initiate and participate in subsequent sales opportunities with existing customers or their colleagues.
* Develop technical and simulation knowledge through working on sales and support cases.
* Run introductory training courses, EM-specific courses, webinars, and product demonstrations.
Requirements
* MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
* At least six months of experience in modeling electromagnetic applications using COMSOL Multiphysics.
* Service-oriented, business-minded, outgoing personality, adaptable, and flexible.
* Ability to work daily with customers.
* Strong presentation skills, both in-person and online.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, German or French.
* Eligible to work in Switzerland (Swiss B permit holder or higher, or EU citizen).
Preferred Qualifications
* In-depth experience with COMSOL software, especially the AC/DC Module or RF Module.
* Proven record of numerical modeling gained through project work at a commercial company, government research facility, or university.
* Strong background in computational electromagnetism, Maxwell's equations, and numerical methods.
* Familiarity with the Swiss R&D landscape.
