For one of our clients, a Private Bank based in Geneva, we are looking for a Credit Analyst to support the bank’s lombard lending business for a 6-month temporary assignment. The candidate will join the credit risk department, which provides lombard financing to private banking clients and monitors their compliance with collateral and credit limits. Integrating into the existing team, they will be primarily responsible for analyzing and processing credit requests, the preparation and presentation of credit proposals, the issuing of credit contracts and the filing of completed transactions. When not involved in processing credit requests, the person will support the daily business of the department by validating back office transactions in real time, controlling risky exposures at client level and providing advice to the business side.
Responsibilities will include:
* Preparation of individual credit proposals jointly with front office bankers and assistants, by receiving customer credit requests, analyzing account collateral positions and setting the terms and conditions of credit transactions in compliance with internal and external regulations.
* Advise the business side about credit products, internal credit regulation and the viability of different financing alternatives, balancing customer needs with the bank's risk appetite and profitability.
* Preparation of credit documentation and coordination of non-standard documentation with the legal department.
* Maintaining customer credit files and credit risk archives up to date and in good order.
* Reviewing and validating customer banking transactions that have been flagged by the core banking system as requiring credit approval.
* Participating as a subject matter expert in change projects involving the credit risk function.
* Assisting in the preparation of weekly and monthly credit portfolio reports and ad-hoc analytical and reporting tasks.
Profile:
* Minimum 2-3 years related experience in credit risk / middle office, ideally in lombard lending or credit analysis.
* Good understanding of credit products, financial instruments and the banking business.
* University degree, preferably in Finance / Economics (or equivalent middle office experience in banking).
* Certificates and specific training related to professional activity would be an asset.
* Capacity to work in a small team as well as independently on specific tasks; ability to maintain service levels under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
* Strong communication abilities, service orientation and strong eye for detail.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Fluent in English, proficient in Spanish, with French being an asset.
* Immediate availability highly preferred.
