AXA XL Reinsurance is among the world's leading reinsurers, offering a comprehensive product range across Property, Casualty and Specialty reinsurance. In Specialty Reinsurance, we are looking for a person to join a small and very successful team in the area of Credit and Surety Reinsurance.
The team is responsible for maintaining and growing a profitable book of business. The main task is to support the underwriting of this portfolio according to proper underwriting guidelines. The role holder will gain technical knowledge and perform meaningful tasks, preparing for a future career in reinsurance.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
1. Support the underwriters in the analysis of new reinsurance treaty offers and renewals of existing treaties; pre-analyze special acceptances and facultative reinsurance offers.
2. Analyze and prepare client data and information packages, including exposure data analysis, pricing, and treaty administration.
3. Structure and sort all necessary information for peer reviews and committee referrals.
4. Handle all post-renewal tasks, including exposure reporting and matching.
5. Ensure accurate data entry on underwriting, pricing, and data storage.
6. Prompt processing of slips and wordings.
7. Assist underwriters in reinsurance premium flow control.
8. Conduct ad hoc research and project work to support underwriting decisions.
9. Attend and participate in internal and external client/broker meetings.
10. Build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients.
11. Represent AXA XL professionally and adhere to regulatory policies.
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance (Master’s may be advantageous).
2. Experience in a Financial Services environment is advantageous, but not required (university graduates are welcome).
3. First experience in specialty (re)insurance underwriting is advantageous.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, with German as a plus.
5. Excellent working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office.
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies.
7. Effective scheduling, prioritization, and time management skills.
8. Comfortable taking ownership of tasks and working within a team.
9. Resilient and adaptable style, remaining calm under pressure.
10. Strong numeracy skills with the ability to articulate key points from data.
11. Interest in financial business acumen and current world events.
