Job Title: Aerospace Engineer
Kopter, as part of Leonardo, is currently developing the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category.
The AW09 delivers latest safety standards, increased performance and comfort at low operating costs.
Kopter is set to become Leonardo's Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Sizing and stress analysis of airframe structures by means of hand calculations, numerical simulations (FEM) and optimization techniques.
* Structural analysis of structures in accordance with aerospace analysis methodologies and applicable regulatory frameworks.
* Conducts trade studies as part of the development of Kopter products.
* Participates in definition of material and structural tests.
* Preparation of analysis reports, technical notes and presentations.
* Follows and supports flight test activities with focus on structures.
Requirements:
* MSc degree in Aerospace/Mechanical or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
* Understanding of lightweight structures design.
* Minimum 5 years of professional experience in aerospace/aviation.
* Knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory framework.
* English minimum B2 level.
Nice to Have:
* Experience and knowledge of traditional hand calculation methods.
* Experience and knowledge of composite materials and analysis.
* Experience and knowledge of FEA using Hyperworks, Hypermesh and Nastran/Optistruct.
