About the Role
In this Junior Investment Analyst role, you will contribute to key investment initiatives, support ongoing investment processes and prepare/coordinate management-information materials alongside our investment activity. This role also supports cross-department projects and initiatives; ., related to new technology applications, responsible investing, and new asset class allocations.
Key responsibilities include:
I. Fixed-income portfolio monitoring
Track and analyze portfolio performance
Evaluate and monitor risk exposures within portfolios
Assist in the portfolio oversight and management
Coordinate processes such as external manager reviews
II. Collaboration
Build productive relationships with external managers and third-party data providers to facilitate independent completion of responsibilities
Work closely with colleagues to contribute to investment strategies
Participate in regular investment committee preparation work and meetings
Prepare essential materials and analysis for Swiss Re's business units and affiliates
III. Security and market analysis
Analyze the opportunity set, including corporates, municipals, and securitized credit.
Conduct in-depth credit and relative-value analysis when needed
Monitor and interpret macroeconomic factors that could affect portfolios
About the Team
As the AM division we are investing the assets generated from our core insurance and reinsurance business. We drive sustainable performance by following a long-term oriented investment approach and focus on a high-quality investment portfolio. As a diverse team of investment professionals, we ensure a strong contribution to Swiss Re's financial performance. In addition, we also support the company's thought leadership on long-term and responsible investing themes, and act as a "Centre of Excellence" for financial market expertise.
The Public Fixed Income Team's investments, which constitute the largest proportion of Swiss Re's investment portfolio, are selected and traded by external managers. However, the team is a very active partner with those managers. We also support the company's thought leadership on long-term and responsible investing themes, and act as a "Center of Excellence" for financial-markets expertise.
You will be working with high-potential employees in close interaction with other financial market professionals from the various investment teams, while reporting to the Head Public Fixed Income Europe & Asia.

About You
You bring strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to apply concepts to financial markets in a rigorous and timely manner. Your solid communication and interpersonal skills make you a team player willing to contribute actively to the overall team objectives.
1. Successfully completed university degree, preferably in economics, finance or science. CFA qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
2. 1y to 2y relevant work experience in credit analysis, investment research, risk or closely related roles within the financial industry.
3. Solid understanding of the parameters surrounding insurance investing is a plus but not mandatory.
4. Well-organized and structured approach to problem solving and able to maintain high quality output even under time pressure.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Proficiency in MS Office applications and programming. Bloomberg skills are a plus.
7. A cover letter explaining the motivation for your candidacy is a plus.
