Job title: Quality and Compliance Specialist
Job type: Full-time (100%)
About the job:
The future of consumer electronics is here, and it's all about non-invasive vital signs monitoring. At the forefront of this game-changing trend is PPG (photoplethysmography)—the cutting-edge technology enabling seamless monitoring of heart rate, blood oxygen levels, respiration rate, and even arterial blood pressure.
Senbiosys is proud to unveil the ultimate innovation in wearable tech: Velia smart ring, a groundbreaking device poised to revolutionize the longevity industry. Combining sleek design with unparalleled functionality, our smart ring integrates Senbiosys's proprietary miniaturized PPG modules, delivering exceptional signal fidelity and ultra-low power consumption. This is more than just a product—it's a leap generation ahead of the competition, achieved by overcoming extraordinary engineering challenges. The key to this breakthrough? A sophisticated, energy-efficient electrical system that powers everything.
To make this vision a reality, Senbiosys is searching for a talented Quality and Compliance Specialist to join our team. Are you ready to help us redefine the future of wearables? Let’s build the next generation of life-enhancing technology together.
Your mission and key responsibilities:
* Quality & Compliance Oversight
* Lead the quality assurance and regulatory compliance efforts for an innovative wearable device used for remote non-medical certified vital monitoring (with potential to expand or pivot in the future to medical).
* Develop, implement, and refine quality processes, test protocols, and documentation to ensure product reliability and adherence to international standards.
* Conduct quality audits of international manufacturing partners, verifying adherence to agreed quality levels and timelines.
* Collaborate closely with suppliers to address issues, correct deviations, and continuously improve processes to maintain a high level of quality throughout the supply chain.
* Semiconductor Testing & Validation
* Oversee test strategies for the proprietary PPG semiconductor, including qualification for new product releases.
* Ensure compliance with relevant semiconductor standards (e.g. JEDEC) and coordinate external testing where necessary.
* Identify potential vulnerabilities (e.g., production bottlenecks, design changes, new regulatory requirements) and propose risk-mitigation strategies.
* Work with cross-functional teams (Operations, R&D, Engineering etc.) to ensure consistent quality and timely solutions to issues that might arise during development and production.
* Documentation & Regulatory Awareness
* Maintain compliance with consumer electronics standards and stay informed about evolving regulations that may affect the product’s classification.
* If transitions toward a future medical device classification is considered, assist in the preparation for additional regulatory or safety approvals.
* Opportunity to build and lead a small quality/compliance team. This includes coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing training to uphold quality standards as the organization grows.
Your profile:
1. Experience (10+ Years)
* A proven track record (minimum of 10 years) in quality assurance, compliance, or regulatory roles, ideally in consumer electronics, wearables, or hardware development environments.
2. Semiconductor Knowledge & Testing Experience
a. Familiarity with semiconductor and integrated circuits, and associated testing protocols (e.g. JEDEC standards, qualification procedures).
b. Comfortable drafting test plans and analyzing yield/defect data.
3. Technical & Analytical Skills
* Familiarity with ISO-based quality systems, testing protocols, and audits.
* Comfortable with data analysis, root-cause investigation, and cross-functional problem-solving.
* Demonstrated experience in auditing and managing suppliers—particularly in international manufacturing contexts.
* Ability to enforce vendor quality agreements and cultivate strong, respectful relationships across cultural and organizational boundaries.
* Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical teams.
* Inclination or proven ability to mentor and guide junior quality personnel if a leadership role evolves.
6. Educational Background
* A degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field. Certifications like Six Sigma, Lead Auditor (ISO 9001 or similar), or equivalent training in regulatory compliance are highly valued.
Nice-to-have:
1. Wearable/Healthcare Knowledge
* Experience working on wearable devices, remote health-monitoring technology, or consumer health products is an asset—especially if you are familiar with certain non-medical or borderline-medical device regulations.
2. Regulatory Familiarity
* Exposure to consumer electronics regulations (FCC, CE marking) or preliminary familiarity with potential medical device requirements (ISO 13485, etc.).
3. Multicultural & Language Skills
* Proficiency in Asian languages can streamline supplier communications and audits.
* A background in multicultural work environments ensures smoother collaboration in a global supply chain context.
* Understanding of RoHS, REACH, or other eco-focused directives showcases a broader commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
What you can expect:
1. Key Impact Role
* You’ll join our Operations division and you'll be shaping product quality for a wearable that leverages proprietary PPG semiconductors.
2. Collaborative Environment
* Work alongside R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Business teams, contributing to an innovative wearable product that could expand into new markets or deeper healthcare applications in the future.
3. Leadership possibilities
* With demonstrated strong leadership and strategic thinking, you may be entrusted with forming or leading a dedicated quality and compliance team.
4. Competitive Rewards
* A compensation and benefits package reflective of your background, plus the excitement of a fast-paced, forward-thinking organization striving to introduce novel wearables to a rapidly evolving marketplace.
