We are one of the leading institutions nationally in the field of application-oriented research and development as well as services.Starting on March 1st, 2025, we are looking for a Senior Research Assistant Wind Energy Innovation (80-100%).You will work as a Senior Research Assistant in various exciting international projects in the Wind Energy Innovation Division of the Institute of Energy Technology. Your main task is to lead the French-Swiss research project “Modeling and estimation of unsteady aerodynamic flow at high Reynolds number”, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (see more here: https://data.snf.ch/grants/grant/212718). This project aims to measure, evaluate and model the influence of the different turbulent scales on the force fluctuations at real speed conditions on a rotor blade.
Your tasks: Lead the research project “Modeling and estimation of unsteady aerodynamic flow at high Reynolds number”
Plan and carry out experiments and data analyses for the research project “Modeling and estimation of unsteady aerodynamic flow at high Reynolds number”
Programme in Python and MATLAB for the evaluation and analysis of simulation and measurement data as well as for machine learning applications
Write project proposals, scientific publications and reports and give presentations at international conferences
Supervise junior employees, students and civil service students
Communicate with national and international project partners
Actively contribute to our “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” strategy
Your qualifications: You have a Master's degree in engineering or similar and at least three years of professional experience in research or industry in the field of experimental aerodynamics, or you have a doctorate in this field or similar.
You have experience in experimental aerodynamics and can design, set up, analyse and interpret experiments
You have good programming skills, especially in Python and MATLAB
Ideally, you have experience in the wind energy sector and are familiar with the challenges in this industry
Ideally, you have experience in personnel management and support
You are business fluent in written and spoken English, and have at least a basic level in German Knowledge of French is also advantageous
You are a team player and work independently
