We are seeking a proactive and analytical business controller who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership to drive improvements. The ideal candidate has a problem-solving mindset, is detail-oriented, and acts as a trusted partner to the business by translating data into insights and actions.
This role is key to ensuring accurate financial oversight across ECCO’s European operations, particularly within supply chain and logistics. You will collaborate closely with regional and local controllers, the logistics team, and the regional leadership, while also serving as a liaison with support functions such as accounting, data, and IT on technical and process matters.
As part of the European Business Controlling team based in Zug, Switzerland, and reporting to the Head of Business Controlling, you will play a central role in tracking performance, managing cost drivers, and supporting strategic decision-making across markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Analysis & Reporting: Analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial and operational figures across the supply chain. Investigate deviations and define corrective actions in collaboration with business partners.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the planning process for logistics and related cost areas, ensuring reliable and timely budgets and forecasts. Consolidate regional plans and support local stakeholders.
3. Logistics Reporting: Deliver monthly reporting on logistics performance and support the logistics team with variance analysis, cost development, and scenario modelling.
4. Costing & Pricing Oversight: Manage costing processes, evaluate trade and recommended retail pricing, and monitor cost implications across the supply chain.
5. Stock & Inventory Management: Oversee stock take processes, scrapping procedures, and monthly stock depreciation reporting to maintain optimal inventory levels and financial accuracy.
6. Cash Flow Forecasting: Provide weekly supply chain-related cash flow forecasts to HQ, incorporating inbound flows, logistics spend, and inventory dynamics.
7. Decision Support: Deliver clear, actionable financial input for management decisions, challenging assumptions and offering strategic recommendations for cost optimization.
8. Power BI Reporting: Develop and enhance reporting tools in Power BI tailored to supply chain and logistics metrics, supporting cross-functional stakeholders.
9. Project Support & Ad-hoc Analysis: Support the CFO and Head of Business Controlling with key projects and ad-hoc requests related to operational performance and transformation initiatives.
Candidate profile:
1. Proactive and Solution-Oriented: Able to identify inefficiencies, propose improvements, and take initiative.
2. Analytical and Structured: Comfortable working with complex datasets and transforming them into clear business insights.
3. Strong Business Acumen: Understanding of the full supply chain flow and cost structure, and how they impact overall business performance.
4. Curiosity and Drive: Natural curiosity and drive to identify ways to challenge the status quo and improve business processes.
5. Industry Experience: Experience in relevant industries is an advantage.
6. Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Power BI is a must. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SAP is an advantage.
7. Collaborative Communicator: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across functions and levels. Fluent in English (both written and oral).
8. Experience: 5+ years of experience in a Controlling position, preferably in the logistics/MFC/Supply Chain environment.
