We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented external ESG Reporting Specialist to join our Group Sustainability Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and drafting comprehensive ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reports that meet relevant standards, including ISSB, CSRD, and other relevant voluntary and regulatory requirements. This is a key role that requires strong writing and communication skills, a deep understanding of sustainability frameworks, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments to deliver high-quality reports.
The Role:
Content Development
* Create and refine narrative content for ESG reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the company’s strategic goals and communication priorities.
* Integrate and analyse relevant data to provide a comprehensive view of the company’s performance.
Compliance and Standards
* Ensure that ESG reports are fully compliant with relevant standards, including ISSB and CSRD, and subject-specific voluntary or regulatory disclosure frameworks (e.g., Modern Slavery regulations, Voluntary Principles on Security & Human Rights, etc.).
* Stay updated on regulatory changes and incorporate them into the reporting process to maintain compliance and best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary data and insights for accurate reporting.
* Engage with external stakeholders to understand their expectations and incorporate feedback into reports.
* Prepare responses to external queries and engagements.
* Maintain up-to-date company profiles with key ESG rating agencies, such as MSCI and Sustainalytics.
* Prepare submissions to relevant ESG benchmarks.
Assurance
* Assist in coordinating with internal and external auditors for data verification and assurance.
Continuous Improvement
* Identify opportunities for enhancing ESG reporting processes, recommending and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
* Drive continuous improvement in reporting standards and practices, ensuring the company stays ahead of emerging trends and regulatory changes.
Documentation and Record Keeping
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of ESG data sources, methodologies, and assumptions to ensure transparency and auditability.
* Ensure proper record-keeping for audit trails and future reference.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree is beneficial.
Work Experience and Skill Requirements:
* 5-10 years of experience in ESG reporting, sustainability reporting, or a related field with a proven track record of drafting and publishing high-quality reports.
* Exceptional writing and editing abilities, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
* Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail to interpret data and integrate it into the narrative.
* Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work efficiently across various teams.
* High attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
* Strong project management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Proficiency in ESG reporting tools and technologies is beneficial.
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
