To strengthen our Life Sciences team, we are looking for a Consultant – Business Analyst (Life Sciences / Chemistry) (m/f/d).
Responsibilities
* Collaborative Engagement: Work with cross-functional teams in life sciences clients to perform requirements engineering.
* Process Optimization: Model as-is and to-be states of processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation, driving efficiency and innovation.
* Data Visualization: Create data flow diagrams to illustrate the flow of data between internal and external entities ensuring clarity and transparency in data management.
* Strategic Data Utilization: Collaborate with lab teams to identify key data sources and develop a robust data strategy for leveraging that data to support business objectives and drive decision-making.
* Client Interaction: Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that address their unique challenges and goals.
* Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive documentation and reports that detail findings, recommendations, and implementation plans.
* Communication and Presentation Skills: You are an excellent communicator with outstanding presentation and moderation skills. You effectively convey complex problems and solutions to a diverse audience in a clear and engaging manner. You have excellent command of written and spoken English. C1 level proficiency in German or French is a strong advantage.
* Conceptual Talent: You are scientifically rigorous in your thinking and precise in your language, yet you thrive in environments that can be ambiguous where key information may not be available. You are comfortable with rapid changes in the work environment and can adapt your strategies and approaches to meet evolving project needs and challenges. Your time management skills are well developed. You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to address complex challenges.
* Academic Excellence: You hold an advanced degree (MSc required, PhD preferred) in a life science or chemistry field, ideally in a quantitative/computational subfield.
* Industry Knowledge: You have familiarity with general principles of drug design and synthesis in the pharma, biotech, or medtech industries. You have a good understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms, as well as systems architecture and data flows. You have demonstrated interest in the Life Sciences industry and its applications.
* Digital Affinity: You have strong digital literacy, an eye for detail and very good MS Office skills, particularly in PowerPoint and Excel. Programming skills in Python and/or R and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI are beneficial.
* Professional Experience: You have at least 2 years of professional experience in the fields of consulting, pharmaceuticals, or medtech.
* Cultural Fit: You have high reliability, team spirit and personal fit for a leading global management consulting firm (international orientation & openness to travel frequently to client sites as needed, integrity). Your strong interpersonal skills enable you to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
