Responsibilities
The manufacturing of a high-end microchip requires over 1000 production steps. Vacuum valves are considered to be a critical component as they are in proximity to the semiconductor wafer and have an impact on the process performance. Semiconductor fabs like Intel, Samsung, or TSMC have increasing expectations for productivity and production yield. These fabs are increasingly using data generated along the manufacturing process to improve production performance. Smart, connected vacuum components are required for smart semiconductor manufacturing fabs enabling predictive maintenance, increasing performance and productivity. To develop the required smart valve technology, we are looking for an experienced development engineer with a passion for sensors and vacuum technology. In addition, your responsibilities are:
1. Development and characterization of sensors for novel gas flow delivery and process control technology.
2. Assessment of gas sensing technologies, practically and theoretically.
3. Set up and functional validation of prototypes of individual sensors, hybrid combinations, and gas control systems.
4. Assembly and maintenance of experimental setups, including automated data collection.
5. Develop, perform, and document experiments (DoE) including results in an organized and structured way.
6. Cooperation with technology partners and universities.
YOUR COMPETENCIES
1. Engineering Degree (MSc or PhD) in physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, or related field.
2. Solid know-how of gas concentration measurement techniques and related sensors, and their applications in vacuum/plasma processing.
3. Proven knowledge in developing concepts and prototyping of complex systems.
4. Background in semiconductor-related vacuum technology and/or gas analytical techniques is beneficial.
5. Experience in scripting (Python) for the purpose of data processing is a must.
6. Experience in modelling (e.g., Matlab, COMSOL) is desired.
7. Hands-on, systematic approach, creative thinker with problem-solving and communication skills.
