About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join one of our Tier 1 Fintech partners as they embark on a bold mission to transform the global payments industry, driving innovation and redefining the future of cross-border transactions.
You will lead & implement their new IT and digital strategy, and as a key member of the executive leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving innovation, accelerating digital transformation, and ensuring IT governance and security meet the highest industry standards. Operating in a highly regulated Fintech environment, you will align technology initiatives with business objectives, leveraging cutting-edge solutions to enhance scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities. Technology & Digital Strategy
* Develop and execute a forward-thinking IT and digital transformation strategy aligned with business goals.
* Drive cloud adoption, automation, and AI integration to improve efficiency and customer experience.
* Oversee the architecture and scalability of enterprise IT infrastructure.
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead, mentor, and scale IT, security, and data teams across Switzerland and global offices.
* Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with C-suite executives to align IT initiatives with business priorities.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
* Oversee cybersecurity, risk, and compliance in line with Swiss and EU regulations (FINMA, GDPR, etc.).
* Develop disaster recovery, business continuity, and cybersecurity frameworks to protect data assets.
* Manage vendor relationships with cloud, security, and IT infrastructure providers.
IT Governance & Compliance
* Ensure IT operations comply with FINMA (Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority) and other regulatory bodies.
* Establish robust IT policies, audits, and governance frameworks.
* Manage budgets, optimize costs, and drive cost-effective IT investments.
Required Experience & Skills
Applicants should have 10+ years of IT leadership experience, including at least 5 years as a CIO, CTO, or IT Director. A strong background in Fintech, Banking, Asset Management, or Enterprise Technology is highly advantageous. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in digital transformation, cloud adoption (AWS/Azure), and AI-driven strategies, along with deep knowledge of cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance frameworks such as FINMA, GDPR, and ISO 27001. Experience in IT governance, enterprise infrastructure, and applications (ERP, CRM, Cloud, SaaS) is essential. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive change in a regulated environment are key to success in this role. Fluency in English is required, while German or French would be a plus.
