As a Senior Robotics Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and testing of the physical components and systems of our robots. Your responsibilities will span conceptual design, mechanical engineering, design for manufacturing and assembly, and the integration of electronic systems, ensuring that our robots meet specific application requirements and are cost-effective for large-scale production. We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated experience transitioning projects from prototyping and proof-of-concepts to MVPs, final products, and mass production. If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of robotic designs, we invite you to join us in shaping the future of intelligent robotics.
Key Responsibilities: Design and develop electro-mechanical assemblies, robotic grippers, and compliant structures for our robots.
Build and test prototypes to evaluate functionality and performance.
Work closely with electronics engineers to integrate printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) into mechanical structures.
Perform rigorous testing and evaluations to verify the reliability, durability, and safety of robotic hardware.
Create detailed hardware documentation, including specifications, assembly instructions, and testing protocols.
Build, lead, and mentor an exceptional team of hardware engineers.
Provide expert guidance to product managers and executives for strategic decision-making.
Create and maintain documentation, guidelines, and best practices to streamline knowledge sharing.
Improve design standards and processes through active participation in design reviews.
Requirements: PhD degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical design, or a similar discipline.
Get some bonus points: Familiarity with design for mass production.
Join us in reinventing how robots can be integrated into our society through innovative soft robotic solutions. If you are a motivated person with a passion for tech, willing to show your potential and eager to grow within a fast-paced robotics startup, we would love to hear from you. If you are not sure if you fulfill the requirements, give it a try.
About Us: Embodied AI is a cutting-edge robotics startup dedicated to revolutionizing the robotic manipulation industry. So far we raised over CHF 1M in non-dilutive funding and we are just about to expand thanks to an upcoming ambitious pre-seed round. So far, we worked in semi-stealth mode, and we received interest from global leading institutions such as NASA, Amazon, Nestlé, Grivix, and more. Our job is now to serve these customers. Our advanced safe manipulator has already been deployed at MIT, and we are about to start commercializing to leading academic institutions.
Embodied AI is an equal-opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
Seniority level: Mid-Senior level
Employment type: Full-time
