Based on fundamental research over the last two decades, GRANITE BIO’s differentiated approach is to impact central disease biology nodes to transform inflammatory, autoimmune and fibrotic conditions. The lead therapeutic antibody is currently in a Ph1a/b study.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Immunologist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing our biologics projects in immunology from preclinical to clinical stages.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Performs all duties related to scientific research conducted in the laboratory, including experimental study design, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting.
* Responsible for problem-solving and the development of innovative and pragmatic solutions to scientific and technical challenges.
* Leads the generation of new experimental procedures and assays, and the writing of technical reports and SOPs.
* Conducts training and support of research associates and newly hired scientists.
* Participates in multiple simultaneous projects.
* Leads the establishment of SOPs for use of specialized equipment, such as flow cytometers and cell imaging systems as required.
* Good communication and support of project leader and team.
* Presents scientific data internally to team members, e.g., at project team meetings, and possibly to upper management.
WHO YOU ARE
* PhD in Human Immunology, cell biology or related field.
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, preferably with experience in discovery projects supporting the development of biologics.
* Practical experience with primary mammalian cell culture, myeloid cell assays, flow cytometry, microscopy, molecular biology techniques (ELISA, WB), or similar laboratory work.
* Proficiency (e.g., C1 level) in both written and spoken English.
* Must be highly independent, able to work in a fast-growing and highly diverse international team and thrive in a “start-up” environment.
* Highly precise and organized with good scientific documentation and communication skills.
* Good computer skills required (MS Office). Experience with electronic lab notebook (ELN), molecular biology software, data analysis software, or other laboratory software(s) a plus.
