At our R&D site in Baden-Dättwil, Switzerland, with more than 400 employees, mostly engineers, computer scientists and physicists, we specialize in the development of imaging software and hardware as well as treatment management systems for radiation therapy cancer treatment. Join the Varian team, and the work you do can make a difference by helping to create a world without fear of cancer.
You will manage the Proton Therapy Imaging team located in Baden-Dättwil, Switzerland, Troisdorf, Germany, and Budapest, Hungary. The team is responsible for the design and development of the entire imaging system for Varian's Proton Therapy system. As the R&D manager, you will also drive innovation in close collaboration with product management, customers, and Varian research teams.
Responsibilities:
* Lead a cross-site engineering team including management responsibilities such as motivation, recruiting, training, performance appraisal, compensation, etc.
* Responsible for the overall design and development of Varian's Proton Therapy Imaging system.
* Drive innovation, prototype development, and feasibility testing for new technologies.
* Keep up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies for radiation therapy.
* Ensure alignment of all department activities to Varian's quality policies and within budgeted financial boundaries.
Qualifications:
* M.Sc. in an engineering discipline or comparable education
* Management experience in an international environment and strong teaming skills
* Profound experience with SW and HW development and familiarity with state-of-the-art development tools and methods
* High level of analytical and autodidactic skills
* Fluency in spoken and written English, German is a plus
* Ability to travel up to 20%
