The Impact You Can Have
As a Developer Advocate, you'll join a team passionate about code quality and security, reaching and educating developers across their preferred forums. As one of our public voices and faces, you'll be a thought leader for code quality in your community, helping fellow developers write better, more secure code.
Your Daily Tasks
* Engage and build mindshare with developers through thought leadership and content around software engineering best practices, SDLC best practices, software quality, and testing.
* Strengthen collaboration with communities, forums, and projects by establishing integrations or other modes of alignment.
* Create compelling technical content delivered as blogs, podcasts, webinars, videos, quickstarts, tutorials, and articles.
* Develop unique demos with vendors and partners.
* Host meetups, orchestrate workshops, and speak at conferences and events.
* Promote company-hosted developer events and webinars.
* Establish relationships with technology communities and organizations.
* Work closely with Sonar teams to impact short and long-term objectives.
* Partner with sales engineers and product marketers to advocate for code quality and security.
* Collaborate with community managers and other advocates to enhance ecosystem engagement.
* Leverage social media presence to amplify the Sonar brand within the developer community.
The Skills You Will Demonstrate
* Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, DevOps functions, and CI/CD.
* Passionate about designing, writing, and delivering high-quality software.
* Solid understanding of technical debt management within an SDLC.
* Prior experience presenting software engineering subjects to technical audiences.
* Strong proven experience in one or more of: Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
* Demonstrated experience in technical writing.
* Track record of success getting speaking abstracts accepted into technical conferences.
* Growing following on social media platforms.
* Exceptional communication skills with technical audiences using the English language.

* 10+ years as a technologist in roles like developer advocate, evangelist, solution architect, or software engineer.
* Computer science degree or equivalent experience.
