Regional Accounting Controller
The Regional Accounting Controller, based at MSC headquarters in Geneva, is responsible for supervising the accounting operations across multiple MSC agencies within the designated region, with significant international exposure.
This role ensures the accuracy and compliance of financial reports and collaborates with local finance management to support monthly financial reporting and analysis, as well as the accurate application of accounting policies and procedures within your region.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the monthly P&L review of designated MSC Agencies, directly with agencies’ CFOs and local finance teams.
* Facilitate the group monthly financial reporting and performance review in collaboration with the Cargo Reporting Manager, orchestrating the production of comprehensive shipping management reports by coordinating efforts across various teams in Geneva headquarters.
* Perform a meticulous quarterly balance sheet analysis for your designated agencies, pinpointing process discrepancies, delineating the root causes and their impact on the balance sheet, and proposing targeted corrective measures.
* Manage and supervise the accounting operations for the region, including monthly financial reporting.
* Engage in close collaboration with MSC Agencies to scrutinize the general ledger, ensuring meticulous journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses.
* Identify and implement process enhancements within the accounting function to boost efficiency and effectiveness, in partnership with the Accounting Processes and Controls Manager.
* Conduct in-depth analyses to augment the documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls, while ensuring their correct application and performing diligent controls within your purview.
* Facilitate internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as required.
YOUR BACKGROUND
* Master’s degree in Finance / Accounting / Controlling / Audit.
* Accounting qualification is highly desirable (CPA, ACCA, CFA...).
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Big 4 (Audit, Transaction Services) or similar position in other international groups.
* Proactive with the ability to identify issues before they develop into problems; proactively resolving issues directly or through escalation to appropriate teams.
* High attention to detail and quality.
* Good communication to ensure proper presentation of group financial information.
* Hands-on yet organized and structured.
* Ability to make decisions to ensure proper solutions are delivered.
* Strong team spirit and proven ability to work in and with multi-site teams.
* Fluent in English and French.
