Job Description
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
1. Performance and supervision of advanced numerical models for structures and geotechnical works:Responsible for 2D and 3D modeling for soil/structure interaction problemsResponsible for 2D and 3D modeling of reinforced concrete structures
2. Preparation and coordination of structural and geotechnical designs for various civil structures, with emphasis to structures for hydraulic works such as dams and their appurtenant structures, powerhouses, shafts, retaining walls, etc…
3. Preparation and coordination of reinforcement specifications and drafting instructions with the support of the Design Leader.
4. Preparation of Technical Specifications for execution of the Works.
5. The quality control of drawings and rebar schedules as well as the timely delivery of drawings.
6. Participation in preparation of the offers and tender documents for civil structural and/or geotechnical works.
7. Excellent report writing, presentation and verbal communication skills
8. Fluency in English.
9. French, German or Italian an asset
Qualifications
10. MSc in Civil Engineering, preferably with structural and geotechnical specializations. PhD degree is appreciated.
11. Minimum 10 years of experience in civil structural and/or geotechnical engineering, with emphasis in advanced numerical modelling.
12. Specific and direct experiences in non-linear analyses, transient analysis, coupled problems, use of advanced constitutive modelling, back-analysis supported by field data, etc...
13. Experience in structural and/or geotechnical designing of hydropower and hydrotechnical structures (dams, dam’s appurtenant structures, tunnels, powerhouses, etc.).
14. Able to communicate in a friendly, clear and efficient way and skilled in explaining structural details.
15. Good verbal & written communication skills in English is mandatory. French is a plus.
16. Good knowledge of Eurocodes. Knowledge of other international standards, such as ACI, USBR, USACE is highly appreciated.
17. Knowledge of specialized advanced Finite Element software.
18. Good command of MS office package and knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage.
19. The ability and motivation to travel abroad for short assignments.
