About the Position
Manufacturing Quality Engineer (80-100%)
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the suitable candidate’s main responsibilities would include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
1. Mastering our existing process technology and improving it -- including assisting, training, and working closely with the production technicians.
2. Conducting training and evaluating the effectiveness of process transfer.
3. Establishing and maintaining statistical process control procedures/practices to analyze suppliers.
4. Resolving routine production issues (Failure analysis, Root Cause Determination, and Implementing Corrective Actions) related to supplied materials.
5. Developing incoming inspection protocols and ensuring business intelligence is generated from this activity (yield, quality).
6. Reviewing, supervising, and reviewing quality inspection documentation as needed.
7. Participating as Material Review Board member to review and temper Non-Conforming Material as suitable.
8. Conducting audits of supplier quality systems and technically approving new suppliers along with verifying ongoing supplier compliance.
9. Involved in ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality audit processes.
10. Developing and maintaining positive relations and effective communication lines with all relevant stakeholders.
Education And Work Experience
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
* 1-3 years of manufacturing experience with a focus on quality.
* Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage in a fast-paced manufacturing context.
* Experience or knowledge in Lean Manufacturing concepts.
* Oral and written knowledge of English is required; knowledge of German is a plus.
Desired Skills
* High level of computer skill, and strong written and verbal skills.
* Detail-oriented thinking with the ability to multitask.
* Flexible attitude with demonstrated ability to adapt to change and a dynamic work environment.
* Demonstrate a wide degree of creativity.
* Desirable but not mandatory experience with Optical technology, MRP systems, and Power BI reporting.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate and coordinate with team members to complete tasks in a timely manner.
* Interest or demonstrated skill in the application of statistics to supplier evaluation.
* Attention to detail and very analytical.
* Product part approval process (PPAP) experience is a plus.
* Experience with total quality management (TQM) is a plus.
